Sowbugs are prevalent in our local tailwaters and fish really key in on them during off hatch periods and during the colder months. I utilize UV Clear on my pattern to add that extra translucence that the naturals tend to have. If you want a different take on your normal Ray Charles and Utah Killer Bugs, then give this one a try!

Threw this on at the Green WY and caught several fish on an 18. This sow holds up well in the water as opposed to other sow patterns which I really like.

I fished this TF Sow Bug above a balanced leach in the Strawberry River. I hooked into something that took off upstream and spun off probably 20 yards before I had a chance to play it. That leviathan broke off this Sow Bug and was never to be seen again. I love Bob’s flies. They are very well crafted and have a logical thought process behind each one.
