SO LETS TALK ABOUT MARABOU TAILS ON BALANCED LEECHES SHALL WE??? I think we can do better. I’ve ditched the marabou tail (partially) and used a hen hackle feather to come up with something that gives a better leech profile. Tied Half-Wit style with Diamond Dub, a squirrel collar, and some flash, this is killer on slow retrieves or suspended under an indicator. This fly will catch you the fish you need to sustain your life, mana and stamina pools. Leech… GET IT?

Best leech I have ever used. Caught 20+ on Logan river with this and had equal luck at strawberry and the uintas. Hammer the stillwaters and buy this fly! I bought them all but use the life leech (red) the most.

Sometimes this is all you need. I’ve been fishing this leech in the “Life” color for a couple years now, and it’s always the first fly I put in the water. It simply catches fish. Easily my #1 Stillwater fly when under an indicator.
